Subject: Re: Alfred E. Tauss

Hi Bob,

I only have one Brother.  His name is Alfred E. Tauss and was an MP in Vietnam.  I think information got to you regarding another Alfred Tauss for 1967 incorrectly.  Looking back at his letters that I have, he first enlisted and went to Fort Dix, NJ for training.  Then he was sent to Fort Gordon, Georgia and then deployed right to Vietnam.  He was in Vietnam from 1966 - March 1967.  While in Vietnam his Rank was SP/4 and he was an MP.  I just reread his letters and not sure if these events are what you are looking for but I will list the things I found in the letters. 1.  March 1966 he received 16 Stitches in his hand from Metal because of a Mine that blew up in front of his jeep. 2.  May 1966 he was doing Harbor Patrols at night searching fishing boats.  3. August 1966 he flew Shot Gun on a Helicopter and was shot at.  4. October 1966 as an MP he was guarding prisoners of War.

Please let me know if this helps.

PS.  If you have a copy of the 1964 yearbook both my brother Alfred and I appear on the same page.  I am listed as Yolanda Tauss and him of course, Alfred Tauss.
